VALIANT GALLERY will be holding a solo exhibition "#BAE" by Fukuoka-based artist Kazue Omori on the dates listed above.
This time, we will be exhibiting new works from the Eating Girls series, with the theme of "looking good".
About this solo exhibition
One aspect of the relationship between food and people in modern Japan is the culture of "eiga" (looking good).
Using food as a motif for photography in order to make oneself look more attractive is something that is unique to the modern era.
It's sad, but not uncommon, to hear stories of people taking photos of "good-looking food and cute me" and then leaving the food uneaten.
I saw this as a phenomenon that represents the relationship between food and people, and expressed it as art in the form of a caricature by deliberately drawing it cutely.
" said Omori.
Enjoy the pop colors, cute girls, and the work of this artist who has studied a variety of different expressive techniques. Photogenic drinks will also be available during the event.
