Gymnocalycium saglionis
The "Shintenchii" Gymnocalycium is characterized by its large, imposing spherical body, sharply curved spines, and its robust and easy-to-grow nature.
Its skin is silver-gray or dull silver-gray, gaining a sense of depth with age.
■Care Location
Year-round: A sunny and well-ventilated location is ideal.
Summer: To avoid strong direct sunlight, bright shade or shading is necessary.
Winter: Move indoors to a sunny spot, ensuring the temperature remains above 5℃.
■Temperature Management
From spring to autumn, place in a sunny and well-ventilated area. When the temperature drops below 5℃, move indoors or to a simple greenhouse.
In summer, avoid direct sunlight. In winter, maintain a minimum temperature of 5℃, placing it in a sunny spot during the day and being mindful of cold near windows at night.
■Watering
From spring to autumn, water thoroughly once the soil has completely dried out.
In summer and winter, keep almost completely dry.
■Fertilizer
Apply slow-release organic fertilizer as a base fertilizer when repotting.
