Boophone disticha
It is a large bulbous plant native to South Africa.
The thick bulbs emerge from the ground and the fan-shaped leaves draw the eye, adding an exotic accent to the space.
■Location for care <br>During the growing season (autumn to spring), care should be taken in a well-ventilated place that receives plenty of direct sunlight.
During the dormant period (summer), keep the plant in a cool, well-ventilated place, such as on a shaded shelf.
■Temperature control <br>Optimum temperature for growth: 15 to 25°C.
Winter dormancy: Be careful not to let the temperature drop below 10°C, and keep in a warm place away from frost and cold winds.
Summer dormancy: Keep in a cool, well-ventilated place.
■Watering <br>During the growing season when the leaves are unfolding, water thoroughly until water flows out from the bottom of the pot once the soil has completely dried.
Once the leaves begin to wither, gradually reduce watering, and during the dormant period, stop watering or water a small amount once a month.
■Soil and fertilizer <br>Please use potting soil for succulents and cacti that has good breathability and drainage.
Use a fertilizer for succulents and cacti and apply diluted liquid fertilizer during the growing season from spring to autumn.
Do not fertilize during the dormant period.
It is also effective to mix slow-release fertilizer into the soil.
