Boophone disticha
It is a large bulbous plant native to South Africa.
The thick bulbs emerge from the ground and the fan-shaped leaves draw the eye, adding an exotic accent to the space.
■Location for keeping <br>During the growing season (autumn to spring), keep in a well-ventilated place with plenty of direct sunlight.
During the dormant season (summer), keep the plant in a cool, well-ventilated place, such as on a shaded shelf.
■Temperature control <br>Optimum growth temperature: 15 to 25°C.
Winter dormancy: Keep in a warm place away from frost and cold winds, and be careful not to allow the temperature to drop below 10°C.
Summer dormancy: Keep in a cool, well-ventilated place.
■Watering <br>During the growing season when the leaves are developing, water thoroughly until water flows out from the bottom of the pot when the soil is completely dry.
Once the leaves begin to wither, gradually reduce watering, and during the dormant period, stop watering or give a small amount of water about once a month.
■Soil and fertilizer <br>Please use potting soil for succulents and cacti that has good breathability and drainage.
Use a liquid fertilizer for succulents and cacti and apply diluted liquid fertilizer during the growing season from spring to autumn.
Do not fertilize during the dormant period.
It is also a good idea to mix slow release fertilizer into the soil.
