A cactus native to northwestern Chile. It looks very similar to Copiapoa kuro-o-maru and is a large species.
It is characterized by its black and white spines, and the colonies are a sight to behold. It is a very rare and popular cactus.
■Location for keeping <br>Keep in a sunny, well-ventilated place throughout the year. It is vulnerable to exposure to rain and high humidity. A difference in temperature between day and night will help it to maintain a good shape.
■Temperature control <br>When the temperature drops below 10℃, keep the plant indoors.
■Watering During the growing season from spring to autumn, water thoroughly when the soil is dry. In winter, reduce watering and allow the soil to dry out.
