Ferocactus diguetii var. carmenensis
This is a type of cactus classified in the Ferocactus genus native to Mexico and the southwestern United States, and is a rare species that is not widely distributed.
Its stocky body is accented by its distinctively twisted purple-red spines. Its beautiful, curled spines draw you in and make it a mysterious sight to behold.
■Care location <br>Spring to autumn: Grow in a sunny location outdoors or in a simple greenhouse.
Winter: When temperatures drop below 5°C, move the plant to a sunny spot indoors.
■Temperature control <br>Optimum growth temperature: 15℃ to 30℃ is a guideline.
Dormancy period: Maintain a temperature above 5°C in winter and withhold water.
From spring to autumn, it is fine to expose it to as much sunlight as possible during the day and keep it cool at night.
■Watering <br>Growing season (spring to autumn): When the soil is dry, water thoroughly.
Dormant period (winter): Water sparingly, about once a month.
■Soil and fertilizer <br>Please use potting soil for succulents and cacti that has good breathability and drainage.
Fertilize with diluted liquid fertilizer in spring and autumn.
Do not fertilize during the dormant period.
Repotting should be done in spring or autumn during the growing season.
